President’s Young Talents

The President’s Young Talents is the premier commissioning exhibit of the country. It features the country’s most promising artists below 35 years of age. These artists are chosen by an independent curatorial committee composed of local art professionals. They are trained in art creation, from the development of a concept to its exhibit realisation. For this year, the President’s Young Talents features new commissions from Zaki Razak, Grace Tan, Liao Jiekai, Boo Junfeng, Robert Zhao Renhui, and Ryf Zaini.

The Collectors Show: Weight of History

January 25, 2013 to May 5, 2013

One of the most awaited annual shows of arts aficionados is The Collectors Show. This edition, The Collectors Show: Weight of History, features more than 20 artworks that depict the perception and re-conception of the artists towards the multifaceted history of Asia-Pacific region.

Independently curated and organized by the Singapore Art Museum, Weight of History delves into the way artists engage with and evaluate culture and local traditions, and how they translate them into works of art which presents the interconnection between the past and the present in our increasingly developed societies.

Panorama: Recent Art from Contemporary Asia

PANORAMA presents a spectrum of 24 masterpieces from 17 artists in the fields of drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, video and installation. This exhibit serves as an eye opener for spectators to be aware of the prevailing issues affecting contemporary art in Asia at present, highlighting social and political change, and the subsequent threats to nature resulting from escalating urbanisation.
